Pitch Craft Collective is a Baltimore-based concert series and ensemble that delves into the art of music creation, exploring every facet of the process. Each program is like a musical scavenger hunt, where one piece serves as a subtle clue leading to the next, creating a cohesive and immersive experience.

Our First Season
"This year, I’m excited to curate four concerts, each highlighting a different aspect of classical vocal music:
Pitch Craft – Vocal Ensemble
Song – Voice and Piano
Orchestrated Voices – 16-part Choir
Opera Unfolded – Dramatic Vocal Works
In curating each program, I explored the connections between pieces—whether it’s a shared career path amongst composers, a link through text, sound world, nationality, or something entirely unique.
I’m thrilled to collaborate with such an incredible group of musicians, all of whom bring their diverse talents to make this season truly special. We’re fortunate to have such a wealth of talent in the Baltimore area.
Each concert is visually represented by a series of virtual art installations—“rooms” created using AI—presented throughout this website."
Sonya Knussen is the Artistic Director of Pitch Craft Collective, where she leads the vision and programming for this bold and innovative concert series. Collaborating with Baltimore-based professional musicians, Sonya curates performances that bring together fresh contemporary works and cherished classics, offering audiences distinctive and engaging musical experiences.

In addition to her work with Pitch Craft, Sonya is a renowned artistic leader and music educator. With a career spanning both performance and education, she has worked with numerous top-tier musicians and ensembles. Sonya’s passion for nurturing the next generation of artists, combined with her dedication to creative exploration, continues to define her contributions to the musical world.
